Competitor research

What they publish. Where they beat you. One page.

A public ad library shows what a competitor said. Your own auction data shows when they won. Growomat puts the two side by side for every competitor you track, and tells you when either one changes.

Reads

Your own auction data where a platform reports it, the Auction insights file you download from Google Ads, and the ads each competitor publishes in the public ad libraries.

Writes

One profile per competitor: how often you meet, how often they rank above you, the claim and offer behind each of their ads, and drafts that answer that claim in your own words.

Will not do

Estimating what a competitor spends, guessing which library account is theirs, or saving an ad that copies their words. When it is not sure an account is theirs, it says not found.

How it works

1

Confirm who you compete with

Suggestions come from your own auctions and search terms, each with its evidence. Nothing is tracked until you press Track.

2

Growomat finds their ads

It searches each public ad library, checks that the ads link to the competitor's website, and says not found rather than guess.

3

Read what they argue

Every ad is filed under the claim it argues and the offer it makes, beside your own ads and your auction figures.

4

Answer it in your own words

Drafts take the claim, never the copy. A draft too close to their ad, or using their name, is not saved.

A competitor profile in Growomat: overlap rate, how often they rank above you and your share lost to rank, each with a 13-week trend, beside the claims their ads argue.

What it will not do

Auction data per competitor comes from Microsoft Advertising directly and from an Auction insights file for Google Ads, which keeps it out of its API. The public libraries cover Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads and TikTok, and the Meta Ad Library keeps commercial ads only where they ran in the EU and the UK. Reddit Ads and ChatGPT Ads have no public ad library. No library says how an ad performed, so every library view reads: what they published, not what worked.

Questions

No. No public source carries a competitor's spend, so Growomat does not estimate it. The only performance figures come from your own auctions: how often you meet a competitor and how often each of you ranks higher.

No. Growomat reads the claim and the offer behind an ad, never its wording. Drafts are checked against every competitor you track, and one that comes too close, or uses their brand name, is not saved.

No. Library data is public and fetched once for everyone, and nothing in it records who is watching. No customer can see that another tracks the same competitor.
